After many moans and groans from the geeky massive and the del Toro debutants the newly rehashed Hellboy will never get a sequel. It was slightly short off its budget, by a mere 10 million, but I still had to see what the problem was. Turns out there wasn't one.

It was a bloody, insane, history laden, well written, smash to the face and was true to the comics. I laughed it set up nicely for anything going forward. The creatures were well designed, with some classic del Toro notes ina few of the larger beasts from hell.
It seems there is a lot of love for the original two films which looking back on were
bad Hollywood fantasy action that kept it all quite tame and easy watching. I am happy to watch them and they are entertaining but this new look will live on as the best adaption. It seems when people do it right the audience is not willing to shell the money out to start.
It certainly looks like Hellboy has gone the way of the amazing Dredd.
